Have a 2006 Phaeton. On trip to NW in 2021 we had five events where transmission locked up in 4th gear. It produces the code 5445 (MIL). Back home in CA we took it to an Allison Transmission shop in Modesto and it was “fixed” ($1,600). Other than one 200 mi trip a few months later, we did not go on the road again until this month. We left for a long trip on July 11. We locked up in 4th gear going down mountain from our home. Spent night in Corning, CA, & decided, because there were too many mountain passes ahead of us, to turn around and return home and seek solutions/repair. Has anyone else had this problem?
