Another paint checking question - Round 2

I appreciate all your info and feedback on paint checking on my other thread. I now know what causes it, etc...that isn't my question here.

If paint checking(albeit VERY minor) is present, will it continue to spread even if the coach is stored out of the sun going forward? Or will it stay like it is and not get any worse if the coach is always stored under cover?

It will get worse. I purchased a coach with paint checking and thought if I kept it under cover, it would not get worse. I was wrong. Within 2 years, the checking in the dark spots (where the worst checking was) got so bad that it lifted off the clear coat in a number of areas. At that point, you have a problem. And I kept the coach totally out of the sun whenever I was not using it. If it is in the sun, I assume it get worse more quickly, but no matter what you do, it will get worse.

Thank you, that is the info I was looking for.

Wax may help but it did not stop the checking from getting worse. I waxed the coach at least 4 times per year and the checking still got worse.

As already stated, it will continue. At what pace will be determined as to how much exposure it gets to the elements.

It will continue to get worse. Just how fast it gets worst, I believe, depends on the color and how much it is exposed. Darker colors of course get hotter and checking occures at a faster rate.
