Started to look into some water damage in the kitchen of our 83 Pace Arrow. The more I looked, the more I found. I have some pics of the damage so far. Anyone interested in following a rebuild thread?

How to butcher the English language ... 101.

I got me some sandin' time in today! Wahoo...

I needed to sand the dried Por in order to give it another coat.

Rearrange a little bit, and spread more in the same amount of space.

Just one fly in the ointment..... Too many non-approved uses for their product.

They wouldn't touch this with a ten foot pole. Lol.

Otherwise, yes.

I also started working on the outside skirting for the motor home. The drivers side will be about 20 feet long, while the passenger side will be split into 2 pieces because of the entry door and steps.

Not having a huge amount of space limits how much I can do at one time. This is 1/4" plywood, that is being fiber glassed together using some fiberglass cloth and Por15. The Por does not melt the cloth, gets very hard, and according to their website, gets very strong.

The one plus of using either fiberglass resin or epoxy is, it cures faster than the Por does. Either way, the resulting joint will be strong after a few coats.

It may appear in the pic that the joint is overlapped. It isn't. I had painted the ends of some plywood a while back with gray Por, and what you are seeing is the paint at the joint.

Had a bit of a surprise this week. I had wanted to pick up a few 2 x 3's that were 8 feet long.

About 6 months ago, I had bought a few for $2.25 each. They increased just a little bit. They are now .... $6.25 each. Just a touch more than I was expecting.

Anyhow, here is a pic of the inside of the sink I am working on. I am not sure how this will show up. This is where the side is attached to the bottom.

After several coats of Por15, I am getting a small round corner at the bottom. It's not a huge round corner, but at least it's not square which would make it really hard to clean.

I'll see what it looks like after a few more coats.

Thanks everyone. Had a great afternoon today with the kids and the grandbaby.

I should have a few days to return to work on the moho until it's our turn to visit again. Several different family members are taking turns helping out the new parents.

Nothing like having some extra help come and visit and assist with a newborn.

So, hope to have an update tomorrow.

Thanks again.

We've been a touch busy the last few days. More motorhome info coming in the next few days, though.

I am in the process of planning and making a bar top out of 2 slabs of live edge wood. Once built, I will be coating the top with epoxy. In looking at the various 2 part epoxy coatings made for this purpose, most, if not all, that I've checked out say they are safe for use on food surfaces..... this made me wonder about your use of the POR 15 and it's safety in use in an area that will have contact with food preparation utensils. Will there be possible issues with chemicals leaching out, chips or peeling of the POR 15 getting on your dishware , etc. Probably a small chance of exposure, but I thought I'd bring it up anyway

Thank you. I did call them at one point. The individual I spoke with said that they are unaware of any issues with it. However, since it has not been specifically approved by the Fda, Por15 tells people not to use it for that purpose.

Then again, looking at the Fda's track record, it makes one wonder, if their endorsement is as valuable as we tend to give them credit for.

In addition to that, Por15 can always be covered with Epoxy, or some other top coat as well that would be approved for contact with food.

That would give the strength of one, and safety of the other.
