Atwood G6A-7E, what is this part where the plug goes?

I want to drain the water heater as part of winterizing the RV. I believe that item to the left with the white ring around it is where the plug would go. What is that thing screwed into the plug port. It is the plug port, correct?

Thanks

That's an Atwood water heater. As such it should have a nylon drain plug.

I'll bet the user added the hot rod to supplement the propane.

Interesting. Maybe that means the previous owner could not get the LP to work.

Hmmm.

That looks like an aftermarket "Hot Rod", it allows an LP only heater to heat on 120volt electricity as well.
