Battery for a 2002 Pleasure Way

Oh,so much to learn! I replaced the batteries last December in my PW which is a 2002 Dodge Ram 3500 Excel MP and while preparing for my first trip out this spring I turned the fridge on propane and ran the batteries totally down. Now I'm sorry I didn't replace them with the sealed batteries as I'll need to keep a close watch on the water level if they can be brought back.
I'm thinking of having the two replaced with one Optima Blue Top as I am usually plugged in when I travel and I know now to plug in when I have the fridge on, hard lesson learned. Does anyone else have this type battery or switched from 2 batteries to one?

I have the same Pw as yours if you don't use the battery disconnect when not in use the co. detector and fire detection and vcr player is on it will run the battery down DEAD.Mine will drain both house batteries in 4 or 5 days.I try to turn off the disconnect if i am not using pw for more than a couple days.The battery disconnect is under the bed by water heater,I hope this helps

ive never heard of having to ad water to new batteries.... but i would would check the water and then plug it back into shore power and let the batteries slowly charge back up and the test them....

I didn't have the fridge on 12V I had it on gas. I tend to think there is a different problem also as I thought I had it on before for a few days and it didn't bother the old batteries. I did plug it in to shore power for two days and that only charged half way according to the inside monitor. The place where I bought the batteries said I should have added water before charging and then checked it again after charging for awhile. I'll have the voltage checked.

Don't replace your two btteries just yet, get them charged up by plugging the PW in to shore power and then closely monitor their condition after they get charged. Use a voltmeter to check the voltage. We have a 2001 PW Excel and never use the 12 volt setting unless we're driving or stopped enroute for a short time ( and then only if it's pretty hot outside and we're worried about the fridge contents.

something tells me you have a different problem other than the fridge, i use the fridge in my camper WITHOUT any battery hooked up so i dont think your fridge ran the batteries down (unless you put it on 12V instead of gas?) thats the only time i ran down batteries was running the fridge on 12v....
