Black tank flush. Opinions on brand/type?

My new 29.2 has a macerator. I love it. The only issue I have is that due to it's location, flushing the tanks is a bit of a pain. I have to employ the traditional, fill up from the toilet. Cumbersome process. So I was thinking of adding a black tank flush. Anyone have any opinions on brands? I think the least complex the better. Also thinking of adding one to my grey. It would be easy to add and I figure why not. It's a long configuration so it drains slow and usually ends up fouler than the black, so flushing that thoroughly is important too.

I wouldn't use a stinky slinky on a bet. The macerator is so much cleaner and easier. That said, I've been using a macerator on my last two coaches. Here's what I do, YMMV.

1. I close the grey water valve before we shower in the morning.
2. I then pull the black handle, run the pump and let it do it's thing.
3. When done I leave the black tank open and open the grey valve for 30-45 seconds, then close just the grey valve.
4. I turn the pump on again and let it finish emptying the black tank.
5. Repeat #3 and #4 above.
6. Repeat #3, but this time close the black valve after 30-45 seconds.
7. Run the pump to finish emptying the grey tank.

This method uses the hot shower water to flush and clean the black tank completely. It also leaves a base of soapy water in the black tank from your shower. The final run of the pump runs the final shower water through the pump and hose leaving them clean.

We are in our fifth year of full timing and never have had a problem with the black tank or the grey...Dennis

On my new coach I removed the macerator and use a slinky. After dumping I fill the gray (+black) with about 3-4 gal of water, add 4-5 oz of Dawn and the sloshing on the ride home keeps everything clean and grease free. Works good for me for years.

Yeah, that's what I am thinking. I had a flush king on our older 29.1 and it worked great. That won't work on the new one because of the layout of the hose from the tank to the macerator.

I have a flush king and it works fine. We buy 10 lb of ice after flushing and dump in the toiellet.

My last coach and our current coach have both black and grey water flush connections. They are handy, for sure.

The first coach we had did not have any flushing connections so I got a Flush King attachment that you attach to the outlet and use it to sort of back-wash the tank. It worked very well letting you do everything from outside the coach. I basically left the flush king attached to the outlet. Before I would go drilling holes in your tanks to install a flushing gizmo, suggest you try a Flush King. You may be happy with how it works. CW sells them and I've seen them at many RV parts places. Probably find it on Amazon.

All that said, not sure it will work with the macerator. My current coach is pre-wired for a macerator and had one on it but the previous owner removed it saying it was more trouble than it was worth.
