If you replace your bulbs with multi LED bulbs, all it takes is a small paint brush and some black paint to adjust the brightness to whatever you feel comfortable with. One of those little jars of model paint, in black, worked fine for me. Just dab it on to block the light from as many LED's as you need. In the future, if you want the light back, just scrape off the paint.

I have bought 921 bulbs from two places in the past 6 months online and both batches are seriously disappointing to me as they are not as bright as the original bulbs ...my 921 fixtures are somewhat dim already so I definitely don't need them to be even more dim!

Thanks Dave and Jerry for your input and links. The 921 incandescent bulbs make me feel like I'm in surgery. I think they're way to bright and so does my wife.
Do you know Jerry which 921 replacement LEDs you went with? I may have to buy 1 set at a time to see.
