Co-pilot GPS download

If I want to use Co-pilot as a GPS with an Android tablet, what do I need to download and how much it cost?

Do you need to download the application and the maps or else?

I like co-pilot. I really like the fact that it has RV specific settings for height and propane retrictions. It also allows you to specify your road preferences. I bought a used 1st generation Google Nexus 7 with 32gb. I downloaded all of the USA maps and it's ready to go at any time. If you are getting a tablet, get one that has a GPS receiver in it. Most of the better android tablets have GPS receivers. While I am a Mac guy, I got the Nexus tablet so the can easily run OBD II programs connected to a Bluetooth dongle at the same time. So, with the one tablet connected to my stereo, it is my GPS, my music (downloaded songs), and my engine monitor. It works for me and was a lot cheaper than the price of a RV GPS. By the way, you can try the voice guided directions free before buying it for $7 (right now). Just make sure that you get a good car charger and cable that is designed for android tablets and puts out the full 2 amps to the tablet. Otherwise, it will die on you even though it appears to be charging (cheap chargers and/or cables will only put out 1amp).

Yes, all the time.

It has a decent database that includes campgrounds, and it can search google if you can give it a wifi connection (always true if running it on my phone, and can hotspot id running it on my 10" asus tablet. Still researching if my license can transfer to my new ipad?)

I believe both Sygic and Co-Pilot have free trials.

I have used Sygic for four years on four different devices for my $29 investment.

For your license fee the software can be moved to any similar OS device you own and as many similar devices that you currently own. We use it on 2 Android phones and 1 tablet for the present.

If you have a 5" smartphone, the display will be equal to the Garmin 2595 or similar devices.

The great advantage for us is that a GPS that does not require broadband data is always in our pocket or purse.

I got a free Verizon 7" tablet. Really a Piece of Poop, no wonder they were free. But, I rooted it (basically hacked to get more control of the tablet), deleted all the bloatware (Useless programs that come preinstalled and you can't remove without rooting) installed Copilot, it is now my travel GPS.

I do not have a tablet yet, so before I buy, I will have to make sure it can support Copilot.

I agree with the previous posters about Copilot. After researching the Garmin and the Rand RV specific GPS's and the issues folks on this forum were having with them I bought the Copilot APP for my I phone for $6.99. My thoughts were if I spent $6.99 and I was not happy with it not much lost over spending $400 and not being happy with it. You can choose from car, MH, motorcycle, bicycle,or pedestrian. It also allows you to avoid propane restricted tunnels and you can also input your MH height for low bridges. The thing I like about it is when you plan a route it will give you alternate routes and you can look at the live traffic which shows congested areas which help you determine your route. It also alerts you when you go 10 miles over the speed limit. I downloaded the free version first when I was in Hawaii 2 mos ago but was not impressed with that over the Google maps. I am very happy with the premium version.

I am a huge fan of copilot. great gps, I'll never buy a hardware gps again.
Cost is pretty damned cheap, especially compared to that $400 plus rand McNally, Magellan, or garmin.

The paid gets you turn by turn directions, without it you just have a map.
Still cheap, still worth it.

Imagine my surprise last week when I got a new Motorola droid turbo, and google play said my device was not supported. I contacted copilot support, same answer, perhaps in a future version, timetable unknown.
At least it still runs on my transformer tablet.

I may have to look at it then. This has always been a problem with smartphone based GPS programs. If you didn't have a internet connection, you got a blank screen.

Kidoo, as stated before you can down load the "FREE" app at the android Play Store. Once you have you then downdload the maps you want. If you like the the Co-Pilot app you can upgrade to the paid verision $6.99 USA $9.99 for USA & Canada mapping.

You can try for free. Download what maps that you need. After trying, I did upgrade to the paid version. Just make sure you check your route settings. Mine was on shortest and was giving me weird routes until I changed it.

Under settings, (once you've downloaded the app) go to My Maps and choose the map you want to download.
