Moderator: Sorry to get this all screwed up..... I just didn't know how to do it and I wanted to be sure and get back to the guys who tried to help me.
See previous posts under the same subject name: I had the solution to the problem all typed out step by step and it was so long I gave up on it.
The problem turned out to be the "clock spring". The second shop mechanic worked about six hours running this problem down. He ran down each wire, each harness, each module, and could not find the problem. It was really frustrating. Finally a couple of other mechanics got in on the action, plus I think tech support. The problem was the "clock spring" voltage. Sometimes it wouldn't produce the proper voltage. They replaced it and now the cruise and wipers work fine. End of story...... thank goodness.
Thanks to everyone who put input in on this problem.
