Damon Daybreak vrs Holiday Rambler Admiral

I was all set to buy a 2006 Damon Daybreak that has 11k miles on it. It is in super shape. When I went back to the dealer today my wife and I looked at a 2005 HR Admiral. We are now leaning towards the HR. The price is a little more but the quality seems to be much nicer.

What do you guys think?

I would say that is the exact one he purchased. They have the same Damon there also. I purchased my old PaceArrow from them(Flagg)they were dishonest. Our salesmen was Ralph and dealt with one of the owners Mike.

I too love the HR's.

Great looking rigs.

1st: I have no idea how to post pics on this forum.

2nd: The dealer is saying it may be up to 3 weeks before they have it prepped and ready to go. That stinks. I think they are punishing me for changing my mind on the Damon. Had they had the Damon prepped sooner (it took 3 weeks) and had they let my wife and I come see it on a weekend we would have never gone to that dealers other location and found the HR. So in a way its their fault ๐Ÿ˜‰

3rd: We cant wait. ITs driving us nucking futs

WE pulled the trigger and bought the HR today. My wife loved the layout and bedroom. it is a 2005 Admiral 37 PCT. When I drove it, it had MUCH more power than my current 1993 Damon with a 460 Ford V8. Although I liked the 2006 Damon, after looking at the HR I felt like we would be settling if we bought the Damon.

22.5 aluminum wheels vrs 19.5 steel wheels with covers

bigger brakes on the HR plus they have electronic assist that made them lighter to step on.

aluminum siding vrs laminated sides

Winter heated water tanks with secondary ceramic heaters on thermostats

Aluminum roof vrs rubber roof

Adjustable backup camera vrs stationary

Convection microwave vrs regular microwave

soft touch vinyl interior roof

metal faucets vrs plastic

better fit and finish

Power leather drivers seat vrs manual cloth seat

Then to top it all off the HR is awesome looking. It looks soooooooo nice.

In the end it was a few more grand but I justify it by believing that the higher quality items will last longer. Now I just have to wait for the dealer to prep it so we can take delivery.

WE CANT WAIT.

That's what I was thinking. If you really like the HR over the Daybreak I would use this as part of the buying process and get a 2006 or newer HR. If your pros and cons balance I would lean toward the Daybreak. To me the 3 most important things are storage, water, and HP to Wt ratio, but everyone has different requirements.

If the Damon is 362 HP and 5 sp that is the one I would be looking at. The fact that 90% of your trips are less than 100 miles would not enter the equation. It's how steep are the mountains in the other 10% that would be in the equation. I think in the long run, the more HP the happier the driver is. ๐Ÿ˜›
