Day/Night pleated shades

Same old Class C Motorhome; new topic: I recently watched a video on restringing RV shades. The info was through Camperland.
The instructions were pretty clear except it showed the valance just being lifted off as though they were just hung on some sort of clip like a picture.
Mine seem to be attached to the coach somehow but I can't see or feel how they are attached.
Can anyone shed some light on how to remove the valances so I can then remove the shades?
Thank you in advance for your help.

My shades are seperate from the valences. I have to remove vertical screws holding the shade into the valance. The screws are hidden in the fabric of the valence.

You'll eventually get the valences down and the rest. Lay the complete shade assembly on a bed. You'll need a repair kit for the number of strings in your shade and a diagram of how it's strung. Take pictures while disassembling or label things with masking tape and a felt tip pen. I made a long wire hook thing to thread the strings through the holes. Use ingenuity, patience and masking tape. There may be a local shade repair place that will restring day/night shades for you. Some of the pleats were ripped so I glued them together with crazy glue.

I have not replaced any of my Day-Night shades, but I have restrung many of them.

Every shade is different in my rig. The side valences are attached to the wall using angles that are screwed first to the wall then the valences are attached to the angles. The exception is the valences that are up against a cabinet. They are screwed to the cabinet. You should be able to see the screw heads inside the valences.

The top valences are screwed to the bottom of overhead cabinets where there are overhead cabinets, otherwise, IIRC, they used angles, but I am not sure on this. These screws are more difficult to see than the sides.

Replaced some of our pleated shades with slow raise shades. In order to remove pleated shades I had to remove side valance's Then I was able to get at clips that hold pleated shades in place. Used a long screwdriver to push clip back. Then twisted whole assembly away from clip. Kind of tricky to get both clips back while twisting. Yours may be different. Mine are from Irvine Shade and Door.
