Does Freightliner run a harness for brake controller?

My friend has a 2008 Alfa (one of the last made) and we need to start pulling a car hauler trailer instead of the four on the ground we used to be able to do. The Alfa is a Freightliner 40 foot 400 hp. I believe they call it an ISL chassis. I could be wrong. It's been a while since I've help him with anything on the motorhome. I will be putting in the brake controller for the four electric brakes on the car hauler and am hoping Freightliner had the forethought to run wires from the back to the dash. Does anybody know?

My 2006 freightliner chassis has it pre wired. It was located under dash above excelerator pedal.

Yes, Freightliner has that wired. In two previous Freightliner chassis I've found the plug up behind the dash slightly left of the steering shaft. It's a six pin rectangular plug, but it may not be empty. In my 2008 Tiffin Allegro Bus Tiffin plugged into it to power other things under the dash. All the wires were still there and still worked fine, but I had to use splice connectors to use the trailer harness.

If you'll (or anyone else) send me your email in a PM, I'd be glad to send you a diagram of the plug, wires and connections I got while attending Camp Freightliner. Unfortunately it's a .PDF file and I don't know how to attach it to the forum.

Pigman, any chance you still have that wiring diagram for the harness on the Freightliner chassis?  I would sure like a copy.  Freightliner no longer makes the harness.  Thanks in advance.

Freightliner has a 24/7 hotline. Good old boys who know those chassis well. They will have your answer. I can never understand why people pose those
questions here when FL will give you the real answer. All you need is the VIN.

I'm thinking that the motor home assembly run the electrical and not the chassis manufacturer. I called Newmar to inquire about electrical connectors to the 7 point electrical hitch and they were right on with the information. There were 2 lines from the front fuse box to the back connector that they installed for things like brake controllers and 12v supply to the toad.
