I want this twin bed floorplan

I want this twin bed floorplan in 24-27 feet (shown in 24 feet), without having to buy the $100,000+++ Born Free that features it. This is what our Trail Lite should have been, and we'd have kept it:

Oh, and with swiveling cab seats, please.

I'd even renovate an existing C or A to get this. But it'd have to have all the basic stuff in the right place. Wasn't there a B+ almost like this, except it had twin couches? A BT Cruiser, perhaps?

I am not interested in those with rear twin beds. Well, maybe the Lazy Daze 27 mid-bath. The plan above features both a roomy bath and a roomy kitchen counter. For a 24 foot MH, that is.
Currently RV-less but not done yet.

I want a RV just for me, one person. One twin size bed. No yawning. Sporty RV SUV type. No side door. No back door.  5 feet tall, enough for me to park in the parking garage.

You are responding to a post that's 8 years old with no relevance to the original thread. I would suggest you post your question (if it's a question) in a new post. You may get responses.

The 2017 Forest River TS 2371 also has a dual twin bed layout with a rear bath.

Burl, when I put the bed in place of the sofa in the Trail Lite, I bought two foam wedges. I thought I had photos of them in place, but I can't find them. Anyway, the made a basic sofa out of the bed. And for watching TV, I placed one of the wedges at the head of the bed. Add some pillows and it's very good.

Born Free and Winnebago Trend have a way to raise the head part of the bed and mattress for lounging. It probably is not too hard to do.

We don't know what we would do about tables. If the cab seats swivel, maybe we would rig up something for them.

If the drop down bed is okay, that would be a fine layout. Friends of ours snowbirded in a 26 or 28 foot Trek Safari for years. It had the drop down bed. They loved that MH. People still pay good money for them, and the bed is a big part of the reason.

You are right on the toad. These things are not intended for it. I'm sure someone will tow a Smart Car with one. That would be right at the limit.

i remember your wedge pillows, and thought ALOT about losing our jacknife sofa to build a twin size bed as you did -- but we found sitting in the cushy contoured couch to watch TV set on dinette table very nice.

the redundancy of seating in t24rb is apparent; front cab swivelers and breakdown table could yield some VERY OPEN floor space

in the vid w/ the couple, they said NO towing is allowed

Snowman - I've been looking online at the 24TB, too (and like what I see) The biggest drawback, IMO, is the 25 gallon fuel tank (I might have been reading specs for a Promaster Chassis?). Of course, the compact size will make those extra fuel stops easy to get into and out of. The beds are (barely) long enough for 6'3" Ed; and I'm hoping the bed offers room to move the driver's seat far enough back to accommodate his long legs. We'll be looking at them (hopefully) this winter at some RV shows...

I'm also aware that Coachmen doesn't have the finest quality control - but that being said, our first 28' Gulf Stream Class C was an entry-level unit, and served us faithfully with almost zero problems for 10 years.

snowman, i had posted these comments, but maybe you did not read them

- a twin bed is very different than a sofa for daytime lounging - backless & too-wide seat
- will two swivel chairs suffice for lounging?
- if TV is in cabover, you are facing away in swivel seats
- will you place a knockdown pedastal table somewhere for big maels or laptop use?

a while back we were in a BF built-for-2 w/ the twin inclinable beds that faces the cabover TV...looked comfy for hanging out on slow/rainy afternoons and most evenings.

nevetherless, it looks like you are moving in a good direction w/ the coachman orion w/ dropdown queen and sofa/captains-chair-dinette

Thanks Hooligan. I am partial to the plans with the bath in the back. The bath is usually roomier, and the rest of the plan is one big open feeling area.

I found this Orion/Transit plan from Coachmen. It is exactly what I was looking for:

But I would also like to see this drop queen bed plan too!:

if your snowbirdind ventures involve entertaining, it's perfect

This model by THOR comes pretty close. Also available in the Siesta Sprinter.

You may also want to look at the 24ST, the model I have. Twin beds in the back, bath midship and twin reclining theater seats instead of the sofa.

wearenh, yours is virtually identical to the Trail Lite we had. Except you have the cabover bunk.

.

that's actually almost our exact layout... I could make the jacknife sofa and
the dinette into permanent twin beds ... AND it has a near-queen over the cab ...
AND it is in a 21' package, which is so much easier to get around in

Just FYI - think that unit Bob Nestor linked to has a bed that drops down from the ceiling (not couches that come together like you mentioned). I saw one at an RV show a couple weeks ago - it seemed really nice UNLESS you are tall. I'm 5'11" and couldn't walk under the bed when it was in its stored position against the ceiling. If they could get another foot of ceiling height, it would be pretty cool.

Oooh - thanks for that tip! I had been eyeballing the REV floorplan shown, but Ed is 6'3". I was afraid that drop-down bed wasn't going to work 😞

timmac, I can see that issue. On our Trail Lite the dinette was converted every night and morning. I took out the sofa and built a regular bed in its place. The bed did not have to be made up, other than straightening every morning so it could be used as a sitting and lounging place. And that is what I want, two of those beds. No dinette, no sofa.
