My wife and I have just bought our first RV, Tiffin Allegro Breeze 2014. Now we trying to decide which extended warranties to purchase. There seems to be so much to choose from. Would appreciate any input from those of you who have gone through this, especially what you might deem " necessary".
Don't waste your money on a brand new coach. The odds of you having a major issue is very low. By the time you need something fixed you will have paid more than the cost of repairs in the form of premiums. Figure what you will pay in premiums and put 1/2 that in a reserve account for RV repairs and put the other 1/2 in the fuel tank. Extended warranties are nothing more than an insurance plan. It is no different than health insurance needing people who eat right and exercise to pay the way for the people who eat off the dollar menu, smoke, and/or don't exercise.
Xtra Ride and Prism are same company...I have Prism and they have been AOK as long as I follow the rules..and they do work with Mobile RV services...if they follow the rules...
Wholesalewarranties.com is supposed to be fair and just about it, but you have time.

Be very careful. A lot of the companies out there broker plans. Check out who or what is behind the warranty company. Lots of these companies go belly up leaving the holders with worthless paper. Read the fine print. Where can you get warranty work done? Will the warranty company permit a mobile repair company to do the work? What is covered??
I had Xtra Ride on my previous 5th wheel. They covered every repair even though I thought on a couple of the repairs the repairer grossly overcharged. When I bought my motorhome Xtra Ride's price was at least double the others. It had nothing to do with my 5th wheel. I bought a Good Sam plan as it was reasonable compared to the others and has very good coverage.
Sooner or later your RV is going to need repair. I my experience RV = about 5 times more than a similar repair on a brick and mortar house. Like I said, in the five year warranty repair, you will use the plan, probably several times no matter how proactive your preventive maintenance.
if your gonna buy one find your on ,the sales people get a huge cut from the ones they sell. WE don,t buy them, new unit everything in it has a warrenty for a year or more. most those warrenties only fix the things that don,t break.
Why would you buy a warranty on a brand new coach? You have at least a year on the coach and probably quite a few on the engine and drivetrain and components. I wouldn't consider an extended warranty until the ones in place expire. Otherwise to me it's a waste of money.
