Firestone Airbags on an F53, where's your PSI?

On my 1999 F53 chassis i have been playing with the pressure in the bags and have found that i like the ride around 25 PSI or so all the way around. I was wondering how much air everybody else uses? Also, how often do you have to add air?

MikeM2 Like Fred said it all depends on what works for you. I just installed a set of Air Lift on the back of my F53. I took a trip to the Finger Lakes NY and had mine set at 50 psi and loved the way it sat and handled. I also installed a on-board remotely controlled air compressor set it at 50 psi and it's automatic and I'm good to go and change it on the move. Best thing since sliced bread. It is normal for them to lose some air and have to readjust the pressure. Jim

How often does everybody have to add air? My front bags are brand new and it seems like every few weeks it loses 5 or 10 PSI...

I found for us it rides the smoothest in the rear with 65lbs per side. In the front I run 25lbs.

I run 25-30 if my water tank is almost empty and bump up to 60 with a full tank.

I only have rear bags

I have a '97 chassis, I installed the air bags. Testing various pressures I found 75 in rear and 25 in front work best for my rig.

Mine was low and leaning to the passenger side (kitchen side). I run 100 psi on that side and 50 psi on the driver side. It's now level front to back and side to side.

I have a 97, and it did not come with air bags. I don't think they where factory installed. You can use whatever pressure you happen to like.

I would not put in a bunch of pressure, like you found, 25 PSI takes some of the weight off the springs, and does not give a harsh ride.
