Fuel Pump

I believe my fuel pump is out in my 1995 Bounder F53 on Ford Chassis. I am considering an external pump install. Can anyone tell me if the new pump will pump gas through the old not working tank installed pump. I would think the answer is yes but I am hoping that more knowledgeable mechanics know for sure. Thanks.

I would just for the heck of it replace the new like fuel filter or better yet get a basic gauge for checking fuel rail PSI. If the PSI is there you will know it is not your new fuel pump gone bad.

I also like this solution and Iam going to do it as soon as I can..built a 1953 Stude with LS1 chevy/6 speed....using this pump. worked perfect.
Iam semi broke down in a COE campground and wondering if my 1 year old in tank ford pump is the problem?. Didn't change to this external before I left.
Don't know if my problem is fuel or fire....my scanner /code reader wont communicate so Iam going to try to get it to a dearer.Cost me 800.00 to change the pump cause I was desperate broke down..while traveling.

That max 45 PSI rating is one heck of a pump. I can see how that could be a good external pump solution. Getting the wiring kit would make for a cleaner and safer install I am sure.

I used this one. I wired it load side of crash switch using a relay with a new circuit to keep the safety measures intact. This left my old pump working as a lift pump. I was able to mount it behind the fuel filter on the frame. I had a 1996 Dolphin on the F53 chassis.

Back a few years ago there were some threads with diagrams, pump sources, etc but have not seen them in a long time. Do you know the PSI required by your injection system?
