Who is this guy related to the RV World? Who is he hired by? What is his RV experience? I see him around RV events from time to time but, really don't know who he is?

I live inMurphy, NC. I personally knew George Bunzer, Gary's father. He was an all round fine gentlemen. He engineered a rv chalet village here in town, which are still here. George and Gary worked together for years. George and Gary has more knowledge about RV systems than anyone else I have been around. I enjoyed talking with Mr. Bunzer over the years and would trust Gary Bunzer knowledge on anything about rv's.

Thanks for the post Sam! I was told by a certified RV mobile mechanic out of the Seattle area that there is only 2,500 Certified RV Mechanics in the U.S. (like Bunzer) that can work on all RV systems. I'm sure Doug Rainer from RV.Net & Texas, would be in that category also.

Edited to correct link-- can't go directly there-- just get an error message.

So, click on their home page: http://www.rvmhhalloffame.org/

Click on "Hall of Fame" (left most tab).

Then click on "Show Class" (it automatically selects 2016, which is the year Gary was inducted).

Sorry for the circuitous route there, but no direct link works on their site.

Gary Bunzer, Mark Polk, Chuck Woodbury and Greg Gerber are probably the most well known of the RV writers and advisers. All are pretty much straight shooting, knowledgeable and honest. Gary Bunzer has never met an RV issue he couldn't resolve or otherwise admit he couldn't. He has solved innumerable RV issues for me just by reading his column or watching a video. Just an invaluable resource for the RVing community. Polk, Woodbury and Gerber are pretty much the same. All are reachable and very willing to help.

Let me tell you what I know about Gary Bunzer, and maybe you will arrange what ever it takes to hear him talk....

I am a couple of kinds of engineer (yes, degrees and licenses and all that HoHa...). I have been around RVs all my life, but I had to work to get the education to have the sheepskin so people would listen. On the way, I learned a lot. I went to two Gary Bunzer seminars at an FMCA event years ago. I went to the first one because it was about things I am kind of and expert on and wanted to see just how close this guy was.....

How About Right on the Mark!!! With all the things I keep telling owners of boats and RVs are important...

I went to the second one and learned a lot. Some of what he brought up has since been double validated to me. So, I suggest strongly that if he is speaking where you are, you go and listen. If he has handouts, collect them and store them.

4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.

BTW, Gary was inducted into the RV Hall of Fame on Monday. VERY knowledgeable guy.
Thanks for the info Brett
