Handicapped accessible RV

I have friends interested in experiencing travel by RV. In order for this to happen, they need a handicapped accessible RV. I have searched the internet for an rv rental with wheelchair lift and appropriate interior setup, with no luck. I have found numerous RVs for sale, but it's tough to buy without knowing how they will like it. Any help locating a rental would be appreciated. Although they live in NM there might be a way to make things work no matter where a rental is located.

I realize that this is the Class A Motorhome forum. However, we have a a 2008 Carri-Lite 5th wheel that has a lift for sale. It is currently at FUN N SUN RV in Luddington, Michigan.

We have a quadriplegic son. We started with a Four Winds toy hauler 11 years ago. We converted the garage into a handicap bedroom. That worked well for us. My wife and I didn't like sleeping in the cab over. My wife found a Class A with a hospital bed and lift. This has turned out to be perfect for us. The lift is a Super Arm Lift and takes up no extra space. It easily lifts the electric wheel chairs. We also have friends with the wife confined to a wheel chair, they also use the Super Arm Lif. Theirs is a diesel pusher with the bus type door, ours is a conventional Class A with side door.

Last summer my wife and I had to make a trip to the Mayo in Rochester,MN. We were camped in a park and most everyone there was also attending Mayo. Three sites down from us was a couple and she was in an electric wheelchair. They pulled a smaller toy hauler behind and both it and the trailer were modified for her to use. I think the trailer was a DuneSport https://www.dunesport.com/toyhauler_wheelchair_accessible.php I see they take in used trailers.

I also need something to carry my daughter's wheelchair, it is 400# electric model, not much chance I am going to lift it in the door. I have been thinking of a toyhauler, or something like that.

Toy haulers have a 8 foot wide ramp that is about 8 - 10 feet tall to tilt down and let the cars, ATV, or even a electric wheelchair go inside.

Thanks for your replies. I did check the handicapped travelers website and feel this might be a place to inquire about private rentals. The large rental agencies that I have called have gotten rid of their handicapped equipped vehicles as they were not rented frequently enough....not money makers

We researched a while ago for Mom, and recently when we thought my wife would need special access. (So far not required, thank God). Anyway, both Winnebago and previously Fleetwood, had departments to assist with special needs.

I can tell you I have seen a rental RV with a wheel chair lift on it, but I can't remember where I saw it or who had it. Have you tried calling some of the bigger rental places and asking if they have anything? Maybe they just don't put it on their websites for some reason.
