We left for out trip to Florida.

We have been plagued with problems.

The cruise control that worked intermittently that it went to the shop to be fixed does not work at all now

I figured that I could get by without it, but now we have water problems

when the pump is turned on water comes out of the city water supply connection

the bypass valve is is closed.

I filled the tank before I left.

Is there a check valve at the city water connection to keep the water from coming out???

It is dark and cold and windy here now, I will check in the morning, but I am giving serious taught to aborting this trip, returning to Rochester to have the shop fix the cruise and water problems.

It was the check valve. I was able to reset it into place with a small screw driver. We have aboted the trip as there were a number of other small problem, the biggest being the cruise was not fixed. We will make the trip early next year when all the "little" stuff is fixed

Thanks for the input

What everyone has said, check valve failed.

Also, I had a 98 Dutchstar with intermittent cruise problems. As a temporary thing, I found that running in the "economy mode", the cruise would work just fine. Might be worth a try.

just buy a fitting to take an air compressor available at walmart for $2.34 and kill two birds with one piece of plastic.

Pickup a 3/4" PVC plug and screw it into the city water connection

The internal check valve inside the city water connection has failed....cheap plastic junk....just a plunger, sprig and o-ring. The o-ring gets out of position and the plunger doesn't seal.

Some have luck replacing the o-ring or getting it back in position but they are not worth the effort.

Plug it off.........use pump. Remove plug and use city water connection when you have it. Simple.
Is it time for your medication or mine?

There is a check valve at the hose connection for your water cupply. Sometimes they stick. Try poking you finger or something in it to see if it will loosen up. Could also screw a plug or water spray nozzel on to stop the leaking rather than stop your trip.
