how do you remove watermarks on sides of rv

What do you all use to remove the watermarks from the sides of your rv? I have a black and gold finish on my coach and have the water runoff stains from the awning down the sides and can't seem to find anything to remove them. I have used the black stain/watermark remover stuff you can get at campingworld but it did not work. I have tried wax, wash and wax for airplanes and nothing has worked. Any help or info is greatly appreciated.

I've had good luck with using a clay bar and detailing spray. You can find kits at most auto accessory retail locations. Spray the detailer on and rub lightly with the clay bar. It has worked well to remove spots on my cars and coach and really isn't much work.

If the sides of your coach are metal rubbing compound will work great. My coach is fiberglass and polishing compounds didn't work for me! Created a big mess that I didn't think would clean up.

Sometimes water will pick up acid rain type deposits on top of your coach and, when trickling down, deposit them on the sides. And, that will leave almost the same type of hard water stain as you'd see with water that's not treated (water softener) out of a garden hose.

About 98% of most waxes are not strong enough or, I should say, do not have enough abrasiveness to remove those. In cases like that, an actual POLISHING COMPOUND is required. Three M makes all the products needed for accurately polishing paints. There are others but, 3M is what I'm familiar with.

I presently have both part A and part B of the 3M system. A is a machine liquid compound for rubbing out. B is the actual polishing compound which, is recommended with the use of a pro machine like the Dewalt that I have but, it can be applied by hand with very nice results. You may find that the only way baked on water spots will come off is with labor, and a compound of some sort. Your local auto parts store usually has different compounds too, along with all the waxes.

I use a liquid wax and cleaner and a rotary buffer, little effort

We use Totally Awesome also AND the Mr. Clean Erasers should NOT be used on any painted surface. It removes the stains by abrasion. Might be okay one or two times, but repeated use you will start seeing scratches. Package directions also indicate this.

"Totally Awesome" Cleaner from the dollar store is the cheapest and the best I've found for removing black streaks. At full strength they wipe right off on mine. I found out about it from another forum.

Try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

You can buy black streak remover at an RV center. It works well with little scrubbing required.

White vinegar or some polishing compound should do the trick.
