Hydraulic Fluid Question

We have an 02 Journey. We have always had a small leak of fluid toward the drivers rear side. We have never been able to find anyone to work on the system. Most local RV places say they don't work on the under carriage portion. The point of the post - does the same hydraulic reservoir for the jacks also work the slides or are the slides a different source. Considering a week-end trip and do not want to get caught with my slides out and not able to put back in.

Thanks.

dianna119.....My sister has an 04 coach like yours. Two years ago we pulled into a campground and they developed at leak in the same area. My BIL knew exactly what it was, because it was the second time it happened. It was a hard to reach hydraulic line for the rear slide.

If it has a side radiator, it may be the cooling fan motor as mentioned above. Mine was leaking fluid from the seal. I had to replace the motor. The motor alone was almost $1k.

Had 02 Journey for 8 years. I had a hose going to the rear slide synchronizing cylinder develop a leak at a fitting. Check there. The hose can be replaced, not hard but grimey work if it is hose that runs all the way back to the pump.

Do you have a side radiator? Hydraulic controled pump??

On your Journey its the same source, an HWH system, for your slides and levelers. One common tank for the hydraulic fluid and a common system of pumps etc.

Try going to a Freightliner shop that handles RVs. They can diagnose and repair. My local one did similar work for me (locating/fixing leak on a leveler hose line.)
