It's already starting to feel like spring here. Think we will take off for a couple of weeks in the RV. This would be the first retirement trip that does not have a real destination. Thinking of New Mexico as possibly warmer and some nice hiking maybe at Carlsbad--but don't want to spend all our time driving. Any suggestions? I can't wait to take the cover off and get going.

That's awesome, sounds like a lot of fun! Will be a few years for us, like 20+. Enjoying camping with our kids for now though. Just booked Yosemite for July.

Great time to be in New Mexico--did a good round up of the state, from Roswell to Carlsbad to the Guadalupe Mountains and White Sands. Stopped in Hatch for some authentic peppers and in Truth or Consequences just for the name--now on our way to Chaco Canyon and home. Weather has been sunny and warm.
It is wonderful to be retired and able to just take off for a couple of weeks. Always our dream and now it is here! Amazing.

Dewinterized! Will leave today or tomorrow. Don't know if we will drive over to AZ. Just NM in our semi-plans. It's going to be pretty warm until mid-week.

Temperature here on Vancouver Island was 52F today. We enjoyed some sunny patches between cloudy periods and I went for a walk to the ocean where winds were whipping the sea into froth.

Shortly after that we took yet another load of stuff out to "Effie", our new to us fifth wheel, and told her that she was off the hook only for a short few days.

"Newman", her truck, was pretty excited with the new hooker arrangement in his box, and we all look forward to the first trip soon.

McDowell Mountain Regional Park is our favorite reservations a must this time of year. Then could meander on your way back home down to Picacho Peak State Park then to Tombstone on the way to Carlsbad
