Maxxair II after install Q's

Hi All,

Installed two new Maxxair II's on my coach today. Wow talk about simple.. anyways I have two questions. First off on one of them (above bathroom) I had to install the mounts a tad higher as the inside of the vent had a piece that would prevent the washers or nut from slipping on. It installed fine however there is a good 1/2" gab at the bottom of the cover. Anything to worry about?

2nd question. I installed one over my fantastic fan. Everything is fine except one thing.. how high should my vent cover open? The fantastic stock cover is much larger than the others so I can only open it probably 1/4 of the way. Is this enough?

Thanks!

Mine open about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way and no problem for the 3 years I have used them. If I remember I moved them back or forward before mounting to get the extra 1/4 inch opening. Pretty sure it was forward all the way.

Mine have the same gap. I didn't get any bees nest under them last year, but it looks possible.

I installed 2 of these today. You are correct about the fantastic fan will not open all the way so I hope it is not a problem. On the other one I installed there is a about a 1/2 inch gap on the bottom. I hope this Is OK as well.

It will restrict the air flow from the fantastic fan. I have a max-air over mine, and the non-powered top will opem almost all the way so I have no problem. My fan will not run unless the cover is almost all the way open.

Oh it does. Thats what I mean.. is 1/4 of the way open pretty typical?

I think the Fantastic fan cover will stop on it's own when it hits the max-air cover.
