Mud Flap - leave it on or take it off?

Our Winnie came set up to tow including a mud flap across the back. We've decided that riding our bikes and renting a car occasionally will work out for us, so we don't plan to tow. Should we take the mud flap off or leave it on? With the back overhang so long I kind of question the necessity anyway...
Cheers!

OK, cool, on it stays then! Thanks guys!

Rolin, we were surprised at how clean our MH stayed during our recent 3,300 mile trip...perhaps the mud flap helped a bit??? We also didn't hit too much rain, so that probably helped too.
Cheers!

I have thought of adding a mud flap across the back. Was hoping it might keep the back from getting as dirty when its wet. Don't know if that mud flap would reduce gas mileage or if will reduce dirt on the back of the motorhome. I would be interested in your experience.

The back of our motorhome gets really dirty from the road spray. Would invest in a mud flap if it would make a significant difference.

I would leave it on because:
-it should help you when making lane changes, flap should keep water spray down a bit at higher speeds.

-should keep back a little cleaner
