Mystery part?

Hi,

Does anyone know what this Napa part is? I'm just curious, I recently bought this 1976 Ford E-350 and this was added by someone at some time over the past 40 years. So I'm just wondering what it is. I tried googling the number on it and searching for the number on Napa's website, but no luck. It's mounted under the hood, on the chassis, near the battery.

Thanks!
Arnie

Nice that the module's been replaced. We had a 1983 E350 and the OEM module never actually quit. But the epoxy-or-whatever "potting" that protected its internals got old and tired. Sometimes we'd stop at a rest area on a hot day and the thing'd drip hot goo on the pavement. I carried a spare and finally cleaned the goo area up and installed it. Just couldn't stand the look.

If yours has the cylindrical ignition coil (metal "can" with plastic terminal end), a spare one of those is a good idea. They get hot and tired. May not re-start on a hot day. We actually had one shut us off on the road. Rolled into a service station and found it'd start again once it cooled. Replaced coil and had no further issue.

That's a BLUE grommet ign control module. The color of the plastic where the
wires come out id's what cars/trucks it fits.

Thank you everyone.
GMandJM got it. I went to Napa's website and searched for Ignition Control Module and found it. That's what it is.
Thanks for humouring my curiosity.

Arnie.

Since it is a NAPA part, I would go to the local NAPA dealer and ask them. If they are like mine they will know right away what it is. JMO

Power for HID lights?

Is there a NAPA P/N on it?
