Need help on front to back heater hose replacement!

Has anyone had the long front to back of MH 2 heater hoses replaced. I got a quote of $4800. from Rocky Mountain Cummins in Denver. Can you give me approx cost and location. I am willing to travel about anywhere if I can get a reasonal cost! This is a Dutch Star on Spartan chassis.

VERY rare for the whole heater hose to go bad. Have you verified that the whole hose is bad?

Much more likely a section, particularly the part in the engine area exposed to heat and petroleum products. If that is the case, use a metal barb to barb and just replace the bad section.

For 5 grand. I would route mine under the coach front to rear, do the work myself and take a $4500 dollar trip. They do not have to be routed through the chassis channel.

Snomas, our heater hose sprung a leak as it rubbed against the engine (a shield was missing or never installed). Anyway, Cummins in Kansas City, MO, cut off the bad part and clamped in a new piece.

It is necessary to replace the whole hose? Good Luck!

The hose itself is not that expensive. They must be quoting you to disassemble your chassis and replace the hoses EXACTLY as the originals are routed.
I would guess that new hoses could be routed in an easier location and secured to the existing frame for a lot less money, even if you use the far superior newer silicone heater hose material.
Get another quote and have the tech advise if there is another way to route the heater hoses to accomplish the same result.
