No 12v in coach -1999 Allegro Gasser

A friend of mine has an Tiffin Allegro Gasser. He has AC power in coach, but no 12v DC items are working. He replaced the battery switch, but upon testing, he's not even getting power to switch. He says all fuses are good.

I suggested that he check the battery solenoid, but he doesn't know where it is located. I have no idea.

Any hints on where to he might look? (I'm pretty well versed on Newmar and DP's in general, but not so much on Tiffin)

BTW, his has the Chevy 454 in it, not the Ford V10 F53 Chassis.

Thanks again all for the helpful information. Problem was traced to a faulty battery solenoid. Replaced the solenoid and problem solved.

Tiffin your year used a standard silver 3 post 12 volt solenoid. It was located in one of the storage bays within 3 feet of the power converter. Fuses and power for the switch is located in that area also. Doug

PS They did NOT use the Intellitec disconnect system that year.

On the parents Allegro (newer) the 12v center was found behind the entry steps. Along with everything else that needed work on that one the 12v system was no different. In theirs the 100 amp (I think) main fuse to the entire 12v system was bad.
There are 24 hours in every day - it all depends on how you choose to use them.

heres a better picture of what I was conveying to you for your friend

I will add that there is reverse polarity fuses on newer converters. This would prevent the converter from charging batteries and operation of 12 volt.
Reverse poarity fuse would not stop the 12 volt systems from operating when the rig is running. they should work off the alternator.

Plugged into shore power the converter or inverter/charger would be supplying 12 volts DC to the rig.
If not connected to shore power the interior would be getting power via the battery if charged.
With the chassis engine running the rig should be powered off the alternator.
See if you can locate the converter or inverter/charge and post make and model.
Sounds like the main fuse/circuit breaker in 12 volt DC distribution panel is blown.
The battery control center is not connected when on shore power. It is used to connect 12 volt systems together and for supplying 12 volts DC to manufacturer's added systems

most likely there is a power control circuit board and relays etc under the front hood area; I would look in that area as that was where many were located for years ;it most likely has a plate covering it heres an example
