No power to coach from geni

I have a 2004 Holiday Rambler Endeavor with a Onan 7500 diesel geni. Yesterday coming home from a trip through central Texas the geni shut down a couple of times due to over heat. It would start right back up no problem at all. All I was running was one A/C and the fridge. But it was near 100 outside. Not sure what was causing the shut down, haven't gotten to the bottom of that yet, although it did have plenty of coolant. The other problem is the last time I restarted the geni I have no power from it to the coach. The breaker that is mounted on the generator itself is not tripped. I can plug into shore power and everything works as it should, just no generator power. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, John.

It was the transfer switch.. Tapped on it, power back on..

If it can't maintain voltage, it will shutdown. It is an inverter type genset so it steps up the RPM to meet demand. If the fuel filter is clogged it will shut off.

If you are seeing an over temp, it may be the infamous temp sensor problem.

They fail and are a. Hard to get to and b. Impossible to get out.

If it is idling you can check the voltage at the transfer switch. If it is out of spec it won't transfer.

Just dealt with this today.

Overheat is a single flash of the light, repeated...
Hit the stop button.
3 flashes followed by 3 flashes (3 3 code) = engine overheated, check coolant level, add coolant. Radiator pressure cap is under the cover right above the on off switch on the genny, remove one screw to pull the cover and get in there.

3 flashes followed by 4 flashes (3 4 code) indicates a problem with the inverter board overheating. I'd think this could be serious, but have no experience with it.

Sounds to me like your transfer switch is not working.

First thing is find the automatic transfer switch and tap the case with a rubber mallet. If it cures the problem then you know the problem.

Switch may continue to work or you may have to replace switch or mount the mallet near the switch

I will have to go check.. But it was working fine, shut down for over heat, restarted and nothing.

When you start up the generator do you hear the click from the transfer switch?
On my coach the generator power takes preference over shore power so even if you are hooked up to shore power, the transfer switch should click when the generator gets up to speed, IF it is putting out the correct voltage.
