Oil leak

I have a 92 American Eagle with a 8.3 engine with 77,000 miles

which has just started to leak from the rear of the oil pan ,

I'm ready for an oil change and have seen an additive that

suppose to stop leaks when added to the oil @ 1 to 5

Any one know if this works ? ?

valve cover gaskets are known to leak and run down the back of the engine ,then it looks like the rear main seal is leaking. these you can tighten your self just snug don,t bare down on them. wipe everything clean and watch for the leak. IF you altered the leak at all? change the gaskets.

I would advise against an additive.
First find the cause of the leak. Loose pan gasket bolts? Bad gasket? Rear main seal? With only 77,000 miles I would not be using stop leak of any kind.

Does the product have the word 'Miracle' in it's name?

I wouldn't risk substituting or diluting the oil. In particular is the concern for the turbo bearings which are cooled and lubricated with the same oil. Better off just getting it fixed.
