As we continue in our search, I came across this one.

https://tampa.craigslist.org/psc/rvs/d/newmar-mountain-aire-2014/6304963616.html

2004 model, 65k miles, seems in very nice shape, has a lot of the features we like.

I know nothing of the manufacturer, reliability, etc.

Thoughts?

Actually that is 2 diesel, 1 gasser.

The pushers were offered with either Spartan or Freightliner, the gassers were only offered with the Workhorse. And for the record, it was not the rebadged P Series Chevys.

Question - would the 2002 Newmar Mountain Aire have the WOrkhorse W22 chassis and Allison MH 2500 tranny?

Looking at recalls, at least for the W22 of that year, and it looks like the only thing to be concerned with is the Bosch brakes to repair sticking calipers.

a good question. hopefully it was not when they were just re-badging the old P-30/32 chassis.

I like the first one better. Agree with the comment about how it seems like the owner took care of it - nice place to park, etc. I thought the same thing when I saw that picture. It hasn't been sitting in some storage yard - newer tires at that, and already has washer/dryer.

Sink is easy to change but I would rather have one large one like that. Much easier to wash pots and pans.

Hmm - found another one that MIGHT be a better match.

https://www.rvtrader.com/dealers/Grandsport-RV-2941356/listing/2002-Newmar--MOUNTAIN-AIRE-3758-122558066

The thing me and the wife like about it are the twin beds - would work out much better for our particular sleeping needs. A single slide - well, less maintenance and things to break, right? LOL.

Kitchen looks nice - but is it possible to retrofit the sink so that you can have a split sink (one area for washing, one for rinsing?)

Would this model perhaps have W/D setup so we could add that later?

Good deals are where you find them, no matter what you are looking for, it's just a matter of knowing what you are looking for and the value of it.

The point for the OP is that if you find one with complete service records that has been properly maintained, it is worth MORE than NADA retail. Don't hesitate to pay it!

And if properly maintained and stored under cover/indoors add even more.

And, if not, it is NOT worth more than NADA retail.

And what happens when you find one in storage that isn't due for its first oil change, and has no maintenance done.

and it looks and runs like new?
and is priced 25k under market.
