Possibly going back to fifthwheel. Need advice

I use to have a fifthwheel but sold it 5 years ago to buy my 2006 Monaco knight. I thought I would use the motorhome in a different way but I have only put 6,000 miles on it in 4 years and want to get rid of it before it hits the 10 year mark. Since I mainly camp within 250 miles of home and usually stay at the same place for the whole week, I am looking at going back to a fifthwheel and new 3/4 pr 1 ton truck. Also because of my wife and I work schedules, I can't anticipate using a motorhome for it's intended use for at least another 9 years. I might start with the fifthwheel and put it seasonal until I decide to upgrade my current truck (2011 Toyota tundra) which I planned on trading within the next 2 years. Has anyone out there ever traded o of a motorhome into a trailer and regretted it? I am anal with taking care of my things and it seems like I maintain my motorhome more than I use it between annual fluid and filter changes, roof maintenance and little things always going wrong like step motors, etc. I originally wanted to go back to a travel trailer and keep my truck but after looking at them, my wife said no way to the travel trailer but she would go back to a fifthwheel.

It sounds like a fifth wheel would meet your needs better. Motorhomes like to be driven. You need to do what works best for you.

Sounds like you asked and answered your own question.

5er makes more sense for parking and shorter trips. Especially if you are experienced at driving and parking it.

Get a mh when you are ready to hit the road on a regular basis.

Who cares what you are in when you are parked.
