Power converter fridg and microwave

I got a power surge to my coach which is a 1998 American eagle now my refrigerator microwave and power converter are not working air conditioning is working fine off of 50 amp fridge works on gas microwave has power to the plug but the on and off switch will not give it power beakers all seem to be switching on power converter says no Ac power generator will not give Ac power either where to start is the question thanks

Assuming you got a true surge.. Every device that you say is not working has electronics.. Now a surge (Sustained increase in voltage) can often fry some of the components.

With luck, a fuse (There are several in a fridge, Dometic has a circuit board on the bottom of the outside compartment with fuses, and a box (Black) on the left side with more fuses. Norcold I do not have so can not comment.

Converters are electronic devices, may have fried, may have just popped a fuse.

(Same with Microwave)

Recommendation, install a Progressive Industries HW-50 as part of your repair so that the next surge,, will be stopped.

Your 120 fuse on the Refer is blown. Possibly the 120 element also
Your Microwave is FRIED ---replace it not worth repairing
Your Converter is fried. replace it.

I agree about the error of what you posted. When you post what you posted, people that don't understand will think they have REAL 220 to their RV. While you are technically correct, it just confuses people. I NEVER state this when explaining or troubleshooting Shore power problems to customers. Doug

But it is NOT used that way.
It is TWO 120V AC hot legs----50A each leg
One hot feeding 1/2 of AC Panel and the other hot feeding the other 1/2

Calling it 220 just confuses those that don't understand it is split.

Microwave has 120V AC at outlet but no ON/OFF..........internal ceramic fuse blown

Fridge woks on gas but not on AC....check outlet fridge is plugged into for 120V AC. If outlet has power then 5A (possible 8A ---varies with models) glass fuse on fridge control module is blown or electric element is bad
If fridge outlet does not have AC power check for a GFI outlet that is tripped

Converter.....if it is plugged into an 120V AC outlet.....is outlet hot.
IF no--check for tripped GFI outlet
If yes..converter blown

If converter is wired to a 120V AC circuit breaker..then CB tripped
push CB handle to OFF then back on
If CB good....then converter blown


Remember.........120V AC circuit breaker does not always 'look' like it tripped. Turn them OFF then back on to reset.
And test fuses vs look at them

Meter is your friend.....

Start by getting an electrical person to help you and a meter. Just take one item at a time.

Converter-no ac power. Start checking input and output with a meter.

Check power output from generator with a meter.

I do think you need someone to help you.

I would say that one side of your 220 is dead.......but your tests seem to rule that out.

So there is only one logical conclusion left, I think:
Those items that are not working are damaged internally; IE they are fried.
