PowerGear jack cost

After 12 years, one of my POWERGEAR hydraulic jacks is leaking. I've been advised NOT to go the "rebuild" route as the end result can be very questionable.
Which leaves me to buy a new replacement jack. However,I cannot find the cost of one.
I will be removing and reintalling myself, so "labor" is me. What kind of ballpark price am I looking at?

I've had 2 rebuilt one for $100.00 and the other for $120.00. Just get it rebuilt..

If the piston (shiny part that comes down) is not pitted, it is repairable. I had three 16000 lb PG jacks that were badly pitted from one summer on Padre Island by previous owner. I found 3 on ebay for $300.00 each. mountings were different buy I adapted to fit. Actually worked better than original. Power Gear reccomends spraying with silicone weekly if left down

Had one rebuilt about 3 yrs ago for about 100.00 dollars and have had no problems.

Powergear jacks require no special expertise to rebuild. Other Jacks require a Hydraulic shops expertise. PG sells the rebuild kits, you just need to get the model number off of the jack. Whoever told you that a rebuild is not needed--do NOT rely on them anymore for their advice. Doug

You received some poor advice. Power gear jacks are easiy rebuilt and most hydraulic shops can do so. They are no different than any other hydraulic cylinder.

Found this on ebay, Power Gear Jack 9,000 lbs. # 500759, for 529.99. I'm sure different ones will be priced differently. I would be interested in why and who advised not to rebuild. I would think any good hydraulic place could rebuild one better than new. I'm sure they will be someone on here that has had them rebuilt that will have more info than me.
