Rear wheels off the pavement

Hi,

Everyone! New member and need some help. I just purchased a 2007 Holiday Rambler Neptune been doing some discovery learning parked in my driveway. My auto leveling system when engaged puts the jacks down the panel reads that the rig is level, not so it raises the rear wheels off the pavement. The Manuel tells you not to lift the tires off the ground. Is there an adjustment I can make to fix this?....

I carry with me 4 each, 6"x6"x12" wood blocks. When I'm in a area thats not level, I use these blocks to compensate for slope, which keeps my wheels from coming off the ground.

I stopped using the 'Auto' feature and I level using the manual mode because after several calibrations, it continued to raise the coach higher than we liked it.

Thanks everyone for your answers, I will go back at it tomorrow in the day light. I will try dumping the air out first, then Auto level. If that don't work I will try the recalibrate the system. I will post again to let all know how I fixed it.

KPruitt......I know our friends have a similar issue with their Neptune. Are you dumping the air before leveling. If you leave the coach aired up, it doesn't give it much working space to get it level.

You can also level the coach manually. REMEMBER.....on Monaco coaches, you must lower the front jack first and then lower the rears to level side to side. The coach needs to pivot off of the front jack.

My coach only has manual leveling so I haven't tinkered much with the auto units. I know they can be adjusted to correct the final level, but I don't think you can limit the extension of the rear jacks.

When on uneven ground I will jack my rig up higher on the low end and put blocks under the wheels. I then lower the rig, put blocks under my jacks if required, and re-level. Doing this all of my wheels are supported.

Safe travels.

You need to calibrate the jacks. Your manual should provide instructions. You will need to find a level spot. I just do it manually.

If you have your rig in park and the parking brake on and you lift the rear wheels off the ground, the only thing holding it from rolling away is the levellers.
If the slope is steep enough you could bend the jacks.
I have lifted the front wheels off the ground when the ground was very uneven, but I try not to lift the rear wheels off.
