We ended up buying a new Thor Palazzo 36.1. This will be our first diesel pusher, cool floor plan with a bath and a half. It came off the assembly line Monday...and I got a call last night that it was at the dealership! :B

So we're going up to Dave's RV in Claremore OK this morning to see it. We'll drop off the Jeep Monday for them to get the towing stuff ready as they clean and check over the coach.

Then we'll pick up both next Friday when we get back from Lawrence KS. Can't wait!! :B WOO HOO!!!

Just got home today and pick it up tomorrow! Thanks for the info Groover. My block heater switch is on the wall behind the pot in the rear bath...I think. Don't see any way of hitting it accidentally...but I'll check it. Other things I'll have to look at tomorrow.

All RVs are a compromise and we think this make and model is the best fit of goodies, price, and looks for us. I think the Sports Coach 360 would have been next. It was cool that this coach was ours when it came off the line. It was not on a lot with a bunch of people walking through it...turning every switch and knob...and test driving it.

I don't think I'll get much sleep tonight!

Very nice! a mid door DP, that rocks.

I just moved up from a truck camper and the main thing that I did not like about it is that the door is on the opposite end from the bedroom. If we had anyone with us I had to go through the whole crowd to go in or out. I really like the mid-door feature for that reason plus it is very convenient for loading the kitchen and is under the awning. That was the main thing that sold me on the Palazzo.

I remembered one more thing to check while at the dealer. Be sure that the drawer faces are flat against the cabinet frame, especially the tall ones. The drawer catch is at the bottom front of the drawer and does not work well if it is not all of the way in. I had to raise the back end of my drawer slides 3/8" to correct that problem and keep the drawers from opening while driving. The only other unit I looked at on the dealer lot had the same problem. Unfortunately, I did not figure out the solution until I got home and had to do it myself. The job was not hard, just awkward.

I just purchased a Palazzo 33.3 and I suspect that you chose a Palazzo for most of the same reasons that I did. I would like to start out by saying that it is what I expected and I really love the floorplan. I have no regrets about purchasing it. Having said that, I have found 2 "miss-statements" in the advertising that you may want to be aware of before you take the coach home.

First: It is NOT rated to pull 10,000lbs. Yours will be rated for 5,000 to 7,000 depending on how you load it. I like to think that this is a very conservative rating but you need to make your own call on that.

Second: It does NOT have front disc brakes. No Palazzos do and Thor changed their website in the last few days to correct that statement.

Assuming that you go ahead with the purchase, several things to do before leaving the dealer:
1) Check underthe slides, the front chairs and dash for building debris such as loose screws, cutouts for wiring and plumbing. I got a couple of handfuls out from under mine.
2) Make sure that you know where the block heater switch is and that it is off. Mine is on the front left corner of the bed pedestal about knee high. The switch can be accidently turned on easily and is generally covered by the bedspread so you cannot see it. I figure that I ran $20 worth of electricty through mine before finding that. As an interim measure turn off the breaker suppling the heater but make sure that this does not mess with your 50 amp service. There are discussions in other threads how this can happen. As a long term measure replace the switchwith a timer switch from Home Depot for $20. These switchs are harder to accidently turn on and will turn themselves off soon enough even if they are forgotten.
3) Check all plumbing for leaks. Not having the kitchen sink in a slide will help out so you probably won't have any issues.

Other than the breaks I have not found any issues that I cannot fix easily and all of the critical stuff seems to be done right.

Good luck and I hope that you enjoy it!

Thanks everyone for all the great comments. We are really excited!

We have to go to an uncle's funeral in Cassville MO (and maybe an extra day of fly fishing for rainbow trout) then to Lawrence KS to watch the grandkids a day or two. Then back home Thursday night so we can take delivery Friday! I'll drop off the Jeep today so they can do the hitch work along with the make ready.
