Our 2007 E350-V10 with Torqueshift has a remote transmission filter as well. It is the kind where you replace a cylindrical paper filter inside like my old Honda motorcycles had. It's not a typical oil filter like is used for engine oil where you replace the entire thing.
A while back I heard it was added in 2007 and some time later was removed again. I wonder why.
Who has such a thing and who doesn't?
While on the topic, as a precaution I stick a very strong magnet from an old computer hard drive on the bottom of the transmission pan and engine oil pan. I remove it upon draining the oil to let out any collected metal particles.
ADDING: I found a picture of the trans filter housing on the web. It could be this or at least similar to this.
