Has anyone traveled without a toad. Thinking of buying 27 - 30ft B+
Wonder if I should even think of not towing. We are not people that are out exploring every day. Live in FL will go north in summer to get away from heat mostly. Sold our 43ft downsizing.

Even when we toad, I'd ask the park where we were staying if there were
guided tours available, if so we would use them saw more, learned more about the area this way.

Has anyone figured fuel difference ? toad no toad.
Responses have been huge help.

We fulltime in our Phaeton with a Sport Trac toad. When we went to Alaska with our B+, in 2013 we adapted to being "toad-less" for 79 days. That said we prefer a toad since we again have dogs and wish to explore without leaving the generator on for AC in hot weather while parked at various sites. We'll be towing our 2011 Mazda Miata 5 speed, haven't disabled the steering lock yet, so not quite mentally ready to take off. We're off for 6 months in under two weeks, so that will happen next year, since the B+ is in storage as of this past Friday.

We much mirror Kristin. We have a very short A, so we can usually get into most parking lots. (And DW does a better job of putting it between the lines than a lot of the passcar drivers.)
We carry two folding bicycles that sore under the dinette so that stay safe and clean.
If we need a car in any location, we rent. I have towed things all over the country and really don't miss the worry.

We don't tow and do just fine. A combination of renting, biking, and just taking our C to places suits us just fine!

Here's a post from our blog with a more wordy version of the same thing: http://winnieadventures.blogspot.com/2014/06/toad-or-no-toad-how-do-we-get-around.html
Cheers!
