I'm considering purchasing the True Center and would really like to hear why Old Blue had a bad experience with it.

I have had a True Center installed ten years next mo. Had a control box problem which Blue OX replaced for free. Liked they say (Don't Leave Home With Out It).Great product that does what it was designed to do.

I have a True Center and I really like it. In cross winds, it works great. You an adjust it so you do not have to constantly fight the steering wheel in a wind. I have never had a tire blowout but I like the extra insurance the True Center gives me. Yes, I would install it again.

Thank you all. I have put steering stabilizer on all motorhomes for safety purposes. The question then is do I spend another $500 dollars to have the option to adjust it. Seems to me to be a good use of $500. I will go forward with it.

My Trucenter works as designed with zero problems in the last 6 years of use. I could see a problem if it is not installed correctly or the user does not know how to properly adjust it for changing conditions.

Gee. I like mine, had it for 10 years now and only had one issue, they replaced it no charge and the new one has worked fine since.

Fun note Back on 2006 I visited Blue-Ox.. They told me one of the issues with the older units is customers who would "Sit on" the adjustment button and thus burn out the solenoid. They were working on a cure

I suggested a time out timer

The replacement, when it came..... had a time out timer.

I also installed a Tru Center on a 2002 Winnebago Journey on the Freightliner XC chassis. I loved it. It worked as advertised and just as well as described by Dutch Star Don in his post.

However, mine was one of the early versions and it stopped working. I sent it back to Blue Ox and because they were having issues with the early models binding, they told me they could not replace it until a new and improved version was developed. After nearly a year, they still could not provide a replacement so they refunded my money and I got a Safe T Steer. The Safe T Steer was OK but not as nice as the Tru Center.

I would put one on my current rig if they made one for coaches with IFS.

"Goldencrazy"....I previously owned a 2005 Monaco Diplomat that I bought new. I was big into gadgets and handling. I added "Koni" shocks, which was huge improvement with front end bounce. I added sway bars and they made it handle like an SUV. I added "Centramatics" which made my coach as smooth as glass and made the tires wear perfectly. My steering was never bad, but I wanted to see if I could make it better. I added the "Safe T Plus" steering stabilizer and hated it. I didn't find that it made any improvement and actually required more steering input which was tiresome. I pulled it off and sold it.

My point regarding the above......I will buy something and if I don't like it or if it doesn't work, I'm willing to say that I wasted my money.....like the purchase of the "Safe T Plus". I think the unit gets a lot of hype from people that won't admit they just wasted $500.00.

With all that said, I installed the "TruCenter and loved it. Maybe the person who bought the one above didn't know how to use it or it wasn't installed properly.

The "TruCenter" holds your steering against road crown and side winds. As you drive down the road and are pulling right because of the crown, you turn a little left and push the "TruCenter button. The "TruCenter will now hold the coach straight without having to correct for the road crown. It works the same for wind.

Here are some important things to know. First, mount the "TruCenter momentary switch where you can blindly reach it without thinking about it. I bought a momentary switch that matched my other switches and mounted it on the panel by my left arm.

Second, the "TruCenter" will sometimes need to be adjusted every few minutes depending on the road conditions. Sometimes it will be okay for hours. I installed mine just before a 6K coast to coast trip. By the end of the first day, adjusting the "TruCenter" became second nature.

Whenever you turn the coach off, the unit automatically goes back to a neutral position. When the unit first came out years ago, they had issues with water getting into the control box, but that problem seems to have been resolved. I installed mine almost 4 years ago and it's still working. My new coach has the automatic version of the "TruCenter", it's called "Comfort Steer" and does the same thing as the "TruCenter", but does it automatically every few seconds.

The "TruCenter" is expensive, $1100.00, but it was well worth it to me.

With all due respect,,, I guess that would depend on what 1000 bucks means to you. I don't have one but if I had 1000 bucks laying around getting moldy, I would. If only for the chance of helping control a front tire blow out. I like the idea better than the one's you can't adjust from the drivers seat. Maybe the person asking is loaded! LOL!
