USED HIGH END CLASS A"S???

Lately I've kind of been thinking about a used high end motorhome. I kind of like the Beaver's of the late 90's. But ran across a Barth for sale fairly close. This got me looking at them, ( I know you guys think I'm probably nuts by now). I know there's a world of difference between them & price, but I kind of like the older classic's (just like cars). I read where the Barth's where one of the top end coaches in the 80's or so, then I read on this site where someone thought they were one of the worse ever built. Is this true? what's the opinions out there? specifically say a 91 Barth Regency with a diesel. I think I read where these had a P30?? chassis which I guess is a piece of junk? Sorry I don't know much about the builders, whether it was a Sparton or Gillig?. I also read where some of the Beaver Patriot's are common to have cracks in the FG? I
I haven't actually seen either one of these, I know the Barth's are getting pretty old now, & parts could be a problem in the future. Thanks for any opinions

When we're on the road we see very few (like next to none) Barth (1), Blue Birds (3), and Foretravels (a few more.) We see plenty Monaco's, Beavers, and Americans though (too many to remember.)

The older the rigs the less we'll see. I wonder if the owners are secretly afraid to take them cross country based on their age. If an owner wouldn't trust a 20 year old car cross country, hard for me to imagine they would trust anything mechanical that was 20 years old either regardless of the fit and finish.
We're going to Arizona this winter in our 1994 Foretravel! Getting new tires tomorrow, and with new tires I would not hesitate to go all the way to California with her.

As to seeing more Monaco's, Beavers, and Americans - there were just more of them made, and that is why you see more!

That coach looks super clean. I kinda like the red and darker wood work. Looks elegant.
Let us know how it turns out. Best of luck.

What a deal

I hope that is what I feel after I see it in person. There are a number of them on the net, and all priced right around that mark.

Always liked a 40ft Fleetwood/American Revolution and preferably 06 and up. They also have a bath 1/2 model in this length as well.
Talking quality vs price here and when the price is no object, the selection is endless.

Stick to the high end units. In the long run you won't regret it. My only suggestion is that somewhere in the 90s they increased the width from 96in to 102in, that 6in makes a difference.

x2 with Dennis on Monaco. Yeah because I own a Dynasty, but all in all, that is why I did the homework up front and ordered it. I did look at used, but at the time, felt we got a deal to go new since used were priced on upper end just before market fell apart. And now, just go over any used to see what you get for your $$. Thinking of an excellant Dynasty Queen IV with 50K miles with all the bells whisltes, RL in/out, let me know,we are looking to move up.
Thanks,
