USED HIGH END CLASS A"S???

Lately I've kind of been thinking about a used high end motorhome. I kind of like the Beaver's of the late 90's. But ran across a Barth for sale fairly close. This got me looking at them, ( I know you guys think I'm probably nuts by now). I know there's a world of difference between them & price, but I kind of like the older classic's (just like cars). I read where the Barth's where one of the top end coaches in the 80's or so, then I read on this site where someone thought they were one of the worse ever built. Is this true? what's the opinions out there? specifically say a 91 Barth Regency with a diesel. I think I read where these had a P30?? chassis which I guess is a piece of junk? Sorry I don't know much about the builders, whether it was a Sparton or Gillig?. I also read where some of the Beaver Patriot's are common to have cracks in the FG? I
I haven't actually seen either one of these, I know the Barth's are getting pretty old now, & parts could be a problem in the future. Thanks for any opinions

If I were going for an old coach, more than likely it would be Foretravel. Mainly because their interiors don't make me barf.

Go to Barthmobile.com to get the info....also have some for sale on the site
I have a 31 ft Regal gasser and am very pleased with the fit and finish
They are mostly all aluminum framed and have solid wood cabinetry.
A used Regency in the 90's with Cummins or Cat diesels can be purchased at very reasonable prices

What is your budget? There are some Prevost chassis RV's units that go back to the 80's 90's that are of top quality and can easily last for hundreds of thousands of miles. Most of the older Prevosts do not have slides but are in the 40-45 range with all of the luxuries.

I looked at a Barth in Elkhart years back that was the only motorhome that I have ever seen with a refrigerator on a cross wall so that it's door was facing the front. I would hate to see the mess after a panic stop. 🙂
I agree that a P-30 is dreadful but did they make diesels on it? thought it was a chevy V8

I would rather have a used, well built, high end coach, than a newer entry level rig... I have only looked at one Barth, years ago. I thought it was very well built, on a Gillig chassis with a Cat diesel. Looked like it would last forever!..we couldn't agree on a decent price for it as the seller thought he had gold inlay throughout the coach!..I've owned two Monacos, a Dynasty and the Executive and I've been very pleased with the fit/finish and quality workmanship in both coaches, so I don't think you can go wrong with the Monaco brand either...good luck....Dennis
