Washing the Roof

Before, During & After on the Maine Forest Cafe ~ The GetAway Chronicles.

Next on the punch list, wash and wax the sides. I'm thinking about getting the same kit that is used for private aircraft.

Any hints beside the armstrong method?

Thanks. Those are the standard-issue Allegro electric horns. They don't work and I haven't investigated. I suspect it's because the previous owner installed real air horns behind the grill.

Wow! What a difference Robert! That is a beautiful roof for solar - lots and lots of unused space!! ๐Ÿ™‚

I was going to post a comment on your site but it only allows that with a Wordpress login.

Nice work! What did you use for soap? I did mine a couple of weeks ago and had less impressive results. I realize ours are made of different materials (mine's aluminum, I assume yours is fiberglass?) but I used regular car was soap and a brush and it was less effective. Some spots came up really nice while others didn't. Forgive the blurry pic - I had to take it through the screen in my family room - the only place I can see the RV roof without climbing up on it!

Nice Air Horns! Have been thinking about accessorizing with them.

I used a full bottle - 32 fl oz of Camco Rubber Roof Cleaner and Conditioner into about a half bucket of water. May have been overkill and it is a fiberglass roof so am hoping for no unintended negative side effects. $10.99 at the local Truck/RV sales & service center.

Next is the WashWax.com ~ $189 on amazing Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Aircraft-Boat-Car-Waterless-Wash/dp/B006AFAWYI

Then get a good tire conditioner.

Nice job. Next time you might add a bit of bleach to the wash bucket and it may take less time to get it all white. I noticed you have the Batwing antenna. You might consider getting the Wingman add-on as it improves reception.

I'll look in to the Wingman.

To be honest, we don't watch that much TV. I can't even remember the last time it was extended for use. Wife watches DVDs, I watch campfires. I do know that the bedroom TV has never been turned on, thinking of what else the space may be useful for.

But there may be a day that we will need it and better to be prepared than not.
