ON my motorhome the main vacuum line to control the a/c,heater, vent comes of a line at the bottom of the air cleaner and runs to a reservoir. I get no vacuum off the main line that is connected to a device that resides at the bottom of the air cleaner housing. The line is clear as I can blow air through it and applying external suction to the line causes the heater controls to work normally.
My question is what is the name of the part that resides at the bottom of the air cleaner housing.

Hope I have been clearer than mud

The problem is fixed and the Air Cleaner Temperature Sensor has been replaced. Everything functions as before the problem

Thanks for the name of the part

I suspect the device at the bottom is the vapor recovery canister required on gasoline engines. This is your gas tank vent, And you should not be able to build vacuum on it.

Your control power (Vacuum) for the HEVAC system comes from a DIFFERENT line it may have a canister on it as well, but this is just a tank,, There will be two ports on it, one goes to the manifold and you should be able to suck, but not blow into it. The other port goes to the vacuum operated devices (HEVAC) and that one is open, no check valve. usually looks like a big ball, somewhere between softball and soccer ball in size, but can be shaped differently.

Okay thanks. There is a line from the part in question to the intake manifold. So there is a line to the part and a line out of the part to the reservoir.
I think the part the lines go to is stuck/bad that is why I ask but I did not check to see if the line from the part to the manifold is okay but I will do so tomorrow. Thank you for getting me going on the thinking. Still would like to know what the part is called though

Vacuum should come from below the throttle plate or the intake manifold and go to a reservoir (a black ball looking thing).
Vacuum lines going to the air cleaner are normally PVC connections to put a light vacuum on the engine crankcase.
