Where to stay near McGuire AFB...

We're going to visit son's family at the end of May.

He is stationed at McGuire and I haven't had any luck finding nearby places. (No luck with the on-base campground since I am not active/retired military.)

Any suggestions?

Well, I'm still open to suggestions...

You guys were correct, my son could sponsor us -- but there aren't any vacancies at the main campground when we're going to be there. They have a secondary campground, "Range 14," but it sounds pretty barren in the on-line reviews - only 20A electric and water, no sewers or bathhouse, just a porta-potty. I really don't think SWMBO will go for that one.

Look online like trailerlife directory, I lived there for awhile and I know their are some on route# 537 out past New Eygpt. Jackson I think has a couple in the area of Great Adventure Theme park. Some are small so check. State park is in Browns Mills, area Brendon Byrne state park( Old Lebanon state forest). No sewage just some water and elect. Small area.

My son in law(25yrs Navy retired) sponsors us twice a yr at Solomons Island Naval Recreation Center in Maryland. Full hookup, big paved sites. Registration & Insurance on RV & Toad and proof of rabies shot on dog. He signs & I pay.

He can sponsor you. You just need him to sign as sponsor. Call the campground and find out how to go about making a reservation using him as sponsor.

Has your son checked to see if he can sponsor you onto the campground? Some bases allow that.
