Windshield repair?

The windshield on my Beaver Marquis has become detached from the front cap. It seems like the front cap lost its shape causing the windshield to fall out of the frame. I've tried to replace the windshield but it no longer fits in the frame around the front cap due to the deformed front cap. I don't know exactly how it happened. Does anyone know if a problem like this can be fixed?

Look underneath the front of your coach and see if perhaps one or more of the support structure framework for the front cap has broken or the welds have failed.

I wonder if this is something your insurance company would cover? You may want to call and see, depending on how expensive the repair is.

I am in Sacramento. DeMartini RV is near me. I've heard they do body work and other custom jobs. Does anyone know anything about this dealership?

Find someone local who does RV glass work. You show that you're in California...what part? I have a great RV glass guy in Ventura County.

Monaco, your coach manufacturer, didn't glue their windows in from the factory. They installed them with the rubber insert only which worked fine for thousands of coaches, but many had the corners pop out and would not seal. The repair is to remove the windshield, glue in the rubber insert and then glue in the window. The window becomes part of the structural strength.

No RV glass shop will guarantee that the glass can be removed without breaking it, but if they do, your insurance will generally cover it.

I likely would start at an rV body shop, IF you are sure that the front cap has actually deformed. Do you have a single front jack? or can you lower one jack at a time causing the 'warping' of the front cap? Sounds serious if the windshield will not even go back into the hole it came out of.

I have heard of some RV glass installers having to readjust the fiberglass caps to get a new windshield and gasket to properly line up. Nothing I would personally attempt on my own though.
