Would you replace all n6n GC batteries

My Phaeton has 4-6v Duracell batteries, purchased from Sam's just over two years ago. They only came with a one year warranty, which I have discovered is pretty standard for deep cycle batteries.

Separating the batteries I found that the problem is only in one of the batteries, that has shorted a cell. I have temporarily removed that pair of batteries and just running off the other two.

I'm just wondering if I should take a chance and just replace the one battery, the one pair or just go ahead and replace them all. I definitely will not buy the same brand battery, regardless.

Secondly: It appears my best choice is Interstate, from Costco at $105 per battery. Any better recommendations?

Replace all and I'll recycle your old ones. Even in AL you are too far away so only replace the one bad one.

Well here's my take. I'd replace the one with the bad cell and pair it back up. Yes it will be drug down to the other 3's level But it certainly won't" damage" the 2 year old batteries To my knowledge. You won't certainly won't increase the life of the others and you will reduce the new ones life, however for the price of one battery you will have 4 that will at least give perhaps a few more years for a low price before you dump them Snd you switch to Agm for bigger bucks. Unless of course you planned to do that now and are ready to spend 800 + bucks for new lifelines.

At least replace the series pair. All four is best.
I might go with two from Costco but if going Trojan etc I would replace all.
Odd to have a bad cell in a GC2... good time to review your charging and maintenance profile.

I was able to pick up 6 Trojans for $120.00 each installed. To me the little extra $$ was well worth having the installed and the old one's taken away.

And yes, I would replace them all.

I was doing some research on my Xantrex inverter and I saw it had different settings based on different types of batteries as each type of battery requires a different charging style. If I changed battery types I would need to change the setting on the inverter for that battery type. So if people are changing types of batteries they may wish to make sure their inverter is set correctly.

Usually anything older than 1 year shouldn't be mixed with a new battery. The old ones will drag the new one down. So, 4 new ones would be best.
But, if you're doing just fine on 2 I'd leave it alone.

Trojan (flooded) is your best choice both for capacity and longevity. You may find that golf cart shops have better prices. AGM is what many of us are going for now, because of NO maintenance (other than charging).

Do you have any idea why one has a shorted cell? Have you watered and charged them properly?
