Cell phone hotspot vs Foxfi?

Have a new phone from Verizon LG G2 that has KitKat. I know that Foxfi does not support wireless on this phone. I can use Verizon's on phone Hotspot or use Foxfi tethered with USB.

Now my question does anyone know if one or the other uses less data, as I do not have unlimited data?

As long as you are using only one device aka pc
It will use the same amount
The data comes from the websites visited
It doesn't make any difference if the pc is connected via USB to phone or Wi-Fi hotspot on phone
The website data will be the same amount
USB is one pc only
Wi-Fi means you could connect several devices to the internet
Several devices will use more than one
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !
