Just watch Andy Griffith Show reruns, problem solved. Do you have a DVD player with HDMI connection? If so, connect it in place of the Directv box. If that solves the issue, Directv box is the problem. If it doesn't, cable or TV is the problem.

You might try unhooking the HDMI cable and turn the tv on and go to setup. If it displays in color it's not the tv.

Good chance that DTV is right.. let me do a few seconds of Research

A 19 pin connector and they use only 5 (Though 7 are connected)

I was not able to QUICKLY find the info I wanted but one type of Video they used to use was called S-Video,. that one I know well.
Croma and Luma were two different wires... And if HDMI works like that .. Well you drop the CROMA (Color) and you are left with B&W (Luma)

ON HDMI the wires are not labeled that way though. But one Audio Two Video and one ground.

What receiver do you have and what kind of antenna is on the coach? If you are using HDMI to connect the receiver to the TV, does the TV have a 2nd HDMI input to try? A new HDMI cable? Can you connect via RCA or component (or another TV in the house) to firmly define if it's the TV, receiver or cabling?
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?
