Firefox issue

I just love it when your phone or computer decides to do something you don't want.I always liked that with Firefox,when you typed something in the search box,it didn't suggest a whole bunch of******you didn't want.The only thing you would see would be places you previously searched which was nice if you went back to the same site alot. Now out of the blue,it started showing all these suggestions as soon as I type the first letter.And it doesn't show the things I went to before. If I wanted an Internet Explorer type browser I would have downloaded that.Can I change it back to the way it was?

If that didn't work, then you either have a corrupt profile. Or picked up some kind of browser hijack such as a PUP.

Try downloading AwCleaner to your desktop, and run a scan. It's portable, and doesn't need to be installed. Do a Scan first, and review what it found in each tab? Then click on Clean. Once it's finished, it will require a re-boot for anything it detected in your registry.

Export your bookmarks
Uninstall Firefox
Download fire Fox manually
Choose the last version
Not the newest one from the top of list
Install
Import bookmarks

If you go into Firefox Tools>Options>Privacy Tab, you can select from the Location Bar's drop-down options what suggestions to display when you type a URL or a search in the address bar. For instance, you can limit it to bookmarks only, or nothing at all if you want. Make sure to click OK when finished.
