HDMI from DVD to TV not working

TV which is mid-ship in coach has 2 HDMI cables running to it from a cabinet over the pass seat.

1 from the sat box
1 from the DVD player

Cabinet over pass seat contains the satellite box and the DVD player

Both worked fine prior to installing the traveller

Now the sat box feeds TV fine but the DVD player does not show video on the TV.

So, what I know
either HDMI hooked to the satellite box plays on the TV - so both HDMI cables are good and have continuity to TV

neither HDMI hooked to the DVD plays video on the TV - but the component out from the DVD which feeds a front TV shows video fine and the sound plays through the surround sound system fine.

In reading up on HDMI, I understand that the unit and the TV have to complete a "handshake" to allow video on the TV. Does anyone know the correct procedure to re-establish the handshake?

It is a DVD player from RCA and a Sharp TV

Thanks for any brilliance you can provide

Have you tried switching your tv between HDMI 1 and HDMI 2?

You verified both cables are good
The HDMI connection in the DVD player has failed
To verify test with another DVD player using these same cables

The only other observation
You can turn on the DVD player with both HDMI and component connected
Go to DVD menu / settings and see if there is an output choice and set to HDMI
If this choice exists
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !
