Mobley

I was fortunate to get 2 Mobley’s $20 unlimited plans which we have used for over a year. I have adapters to use inside our house or in our RV. Had a contract with Centurylink and was just today able to cancel their service. Did not consider my WiFi printer and now do not know how to connect it to the Mobley so it can air print from my devices. I can get the printer to become discoverable and search but don’t know how to get the Mobley to connect to it. I am very limited in my technology skills any advise would be appreciated.

SIM cards can be cloned. It is not a very difficult process but can result in unexpected problems. The worst is termination of service by provider for violation of terms.
It is just easier to have a spare and call to activate when something goes wrong.

as far as i know SIMs cannot be duplicated
and i have never heard of one failing

in the past when changing phones that required a different 'size' SIM
i just a new one for a few $$ then call CS and give them the SIM info

i'm sure you could keep a new spare on hand, but you have to place it in the mobley when you called ATT CS for activating it
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

Maybe you are ordering the wrong Netgear hotspot/MiFi, but no router required as the device IS a router. Connects up to 15 devices. If you want/need Ethernet connections then you will need a router but you will lose 1/2 your speed using the wireless connection to the hard wired router. It's all about choices.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.

$111.88 new AT&T on Amazon
Used unlocked also available from different sellers
Mine arrived yesterday
Really like the performance increase over the Mobley
Took my SIM from the Mobley put it in the explore, turned on put in password instant success, took all of 5 minutes
Has own battery, spec for 20 hours use
I'm using it right now, but only have a few hours experience
Worked great last night streaming Netflix

Unite Explore 815s

i got my printer to connect to the hotspot
put could not find the printer on network on my Win 8.1 laptop

more to learn
I just ordered this. Thanks for the info. Another question if you don't mind. Can a SIM be duplicated so you would have a backup if needed?

Bill, which Netgear device is 5G ready?

I think this one: Netgear 4G LTE Modem coupled with any wireless router. Scroll down the link and you will see a sample installation. It is my backup plan in case the Mobley dies or I need more than 5 connections.

Dave
Am I understanding this correctly? I can take the SIM out of my Mobley, put in the Netgear, connect the Netgear to a router, and I'm good to go and ATT has no problem with any of this?

The router is not necessary. Just put the SIM in eh Netgear and you have a router allowing up to 15 devices to connect.

it will work
and there is 'NO' history of ATT busting anyone.. YET !

which means your chances are good, that you will be OK

If they will change their attitude in the future is 'Unknown'
I can explain it to you.

No 5G data speeds there either (not 5Ghz WiFi). I use my Mobley with a Cradlepoint router/repeater for as many connections as I need. I also have a Netgear Explore hotspot that I swap the Mobley SIM into from time to time when I need a more portable device.

Ahh! Ok, that makes sense then. I haven't seen any 5G cell hotspots yet, but I'm sure they'll be coming along...

If you need the ability to connect more than the 5 allowed by the Mobley, you can get a Netgear router and increase the range (plus add 5G speed) and the number of devices to 15. You just move the SIM card.
